James Short, a 74-year-old retired defense attorney from Austin, Texas, was known for his generosity and unwavering faith in humanity. On April 7, 2017, his life was tragically cut short when he was found dead in his southwest Travis County home. Authorities discovered his body in the bathroom, bearing clear signs of trauma, including stab wounds. The scene indicated a violent struggle, with a bloody knife found on his bed and a black backpack containing items not belonging to Short.
The Travis County Sheriff's Office launched an immediate investigation. A receipt in Short's pocket led detectives to a Walmart, where surveillance footage showed Short shopping with a young man later identified as 24-year-old Justin Nickolas Twyne. Further examination of the black backpack revealed documents bearing Twyne's name and contact information. Additionally, Short's cell phone was found discarded near a roadway, and analysis uncovered text messages between Short and Twyne, discussing plans to meet at Short's residence.
Twyne, described as a transient with a criminal history including financial fraud and battery, was arrested in New Orleans on April 10, 2017, on an unrelated warrant. A search of his hotel room uncovered credit cards and other personal items belonging to Short. Fingerprint analysis confirmed Twyne's prints on the murder weapon. These findings led to Twyne being charged with first-degree murder.
During the trial, the prosecution presented compelling evidence linking Twyne to the crime, including the fingerprint on the knife and possession of Short's belongings. The defense did not dispute the evidence but focused on Twyne's troubled background. Ultimately, the jury found Twyne guilty of murdering James Short. He was convicted and awaits sentencing. ...Read More

on Vanished at Sea: The Mysterious Disappearance of Cameron Booth Off Chincoteague's Coast
He was a criminal, an abuser, likely who didn't want to face justice of his actions and took his own life because he could not face the consequences of what he did. The victims have told the family his crimes, with evidence. The family knows he was arrested and convicted of possession of CSAM. They know who and what he was. And they're all so equally sick they live in comfort that the victims don't want to retraumatize themselves over everything he put them through. Dont support this families sick parade of using a monster to get sympathy. He was never ashamed of who he was. He loudly boasted his crimes and justified them. The family shouldn't sit there and pretend, how far from reality are they to sit and post this man publicly on news outlets, websites, knowing who he is. Do they need attention that badly? They don't want the attention from the truth. The victims will never get justice. Do not pray for him o
