Demontris Toliver, a 25-year-old tattoo artist from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, was tragically killed in a mass shooting on Bourbon Street in New Orleans on November 27, 2016. Born and raised in New Orleans, Toliver was visiting his hometown to celebrate his birthday and the annual Bayou Classic football game. He was a graduate of the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA) and O. Perry Walker High School, institutions known for nurturing artistic talent. Toliver's passion for art was evident in his work as a tattoo artist, and he was remembered by friends and family as a generous and creative individual.
The shooting occurred around 1:30 a.m. near the intersection of Bourbon and Iberville streets, a bustling area in the French Quarter. Ten people were shot during the incident, including Toliver, who suffered gunshot wounds to the chest and shoulder. He was transported to a hospital but later succumbed to his injuries. The other victims, ranging in age from 20 to 37, sustained various injuries but survived.
Authorities determined that the shooting stemmed from an argument between two men, Jordan Clay and Kavon Manuel, both 20 years old and from the Lafayette area. The dispute escalated into gunfire in the crowded street, leading to the injuries of bystanders, including Toliver. Clay was arrested on December 1, 2016, and Manuel was apprehended the following day. Both were charged with second-degree murder and nine counts of attempted murder.
The news of Toliver's death shocked and saddened the community. Friends, family, and supporters gathered for a candlelight vigil at the site of the shooting to honor his memory. Attendees shared stories of Toliver's kindness, artistic talent, and the positive impact he had on those around him. His brother, Joshua Davis, expressed the family's grief and emphasized that Toliver was an innocent victim caught in the crossfire. ...Read More

on Vanished at Sea: The Mysterious Disappearance of Cameron Booth Off Chincoteague's Coast
He was a criminal, an abuser, likely who didn't want to face justice of his actions and took his own life because he could not face the consequences of what he did. The victims have told the family his crimes, with evidence. The family knows he was arrested and convicted of possession of CSAM. They know who and what he was. And they're all so equally sick they live in comfort that the victims don't want to retraumatize themselves over everything he put them through. Dont support this families sick parade of using a monster to get sympathy. He was never ashamed of who he was. He loudly boasted his crimes and justified them. The family shouldn't sit there and pretend, how far from reality are they to sit and post this man publicly on news outlets, websites, knowing who he is. Do they need attention that badly? They don't want the attention from the truth. The victims will never get justice. Do not pray for him o
