Norris Brister, born in New Orleans as the 12th of 13 children, was a man deeply connected to his family and community. He was the father of eight children—four sons and four daughters—and a grandfather to 17 grandchildren. Known for his ever-present smile and jovial nature, Norris was a beloved figure among his coworkers and neighbors. He had a passion for football, enjoyed playing pool, and cherished moments spent with his grandchildren. His life was a testament to dedication, both to his family and his work.
On the evening of July 30, 2016, Norris completed his shift as a food runner at the Cornet Restaurant on Bourbon Street in the French Quarter. Unlike other nights when he would stay late to play pool with coworkers, he chose to head straight home. He boarded a bus to New Orleans East, a routine he had adopted over the past week. After disembarking at the corner of Morrison Road and New Castle Street, he began his walk home. Tragically, shortly before 1 a.m. on July 31, 2016, Norris was found shot and lying in the middle of the 7700 block of Keats Street. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Norris's daughter, Kentrell, who lived with him along with her three children, was not home at the time of the incident. Upon returning, she encountered the active crime scene and noticed her father's tennis shoes and backpack lying in the street. Initially, authorities assured her that the victim was too young to be her father. However, approximately three hours later, they confirmed that the deceased was indeed Norris Brister. This misidentification added an additional layer of trauma to an already devastating situation.
Despite the passage of time, Norris Brister's murder remains unsolved. Authorities have not publicly identified any suspects or motives. The lack of closure has left his family and community in a state of ongoing grief and uncertainty. The New Orleans Police Department continues to seek information from the public, urging anyone with knowledge about the case to come forward....Read More

on Vanished at Sea: The Mysterious Disappearance of Cameron Booth Off Chincoteague's Coast
He was a criminal, an abuser, likely who didn't want to face justice of his actions and took his own life because he could not face the consequences of what he did. The victims have told the family his crimes, with evidence. The family knows he was arrested and convicted of possession of CSAM. They know who and what he was. And they're all so equally sick they live in comfort that the victims don't want to retraumatize themselves over everything he put them through. Dont support this families sick parade of using a monster to get sympathy. He was never ashamed of who he was. He loudly boasted his crimes and justified them. The family shouldn't sit there and pretend, how far from reality are they to sit and post this man publicly on news outlets, websites, knowing who he is. Do they need attention that badly? They don't want the attention from the truth. The victims will never get justice. Do not pray for him o
