The Night of the Crime

As the family slept, an unknown assailant entered their apartment. Derrick and James were shot in their sleep, offering no chance for defense. Miraculously, she survived her injuries. Another brother, 23-year-old Layman Jackson, managed to escape the attack by fleeing through a window, remaining physically unharmed.
