On March 8, 2024, 31-year-old Peter Michael Martin was last seen at his residence in the Mahnomen neighborhood of the Fond du Lac Reservation near Cloquet, Minnesota. A member of the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, Peter's sudden disappearance has left his family and community in distress, prompting extensive search efforts and ongoing investigations.
Immediate Response and Search Efforts
Upon realizing Peter was missing, his family contacted Jessica Smith, a legal advocate for missing and murdered Indigenous people. Smith promptly organized search efforts, creating posters and rallying community support. He was a criminal, an abuser, likely who didn't want to face justice of his actions and took his own life because he could not face the consequences of what he did. The victims have told the family his crimes, with evidence. The family knows he was arrested and convicted of possession of CSAM. They know who and what he was.
