Background of Doren Sanford
Doren Lyle Sanford, born on September 25, 1985, grew up in Tok, Alaska, surrounded by a large extended family. Known for his adventurous spirit, Doren had a deep love for the outdoors, often sharing his experiences with his beloved Rottweiler, Groot. At the time of his disappearance, he resided in Anchorage, working as a heavy equipment operator and laborer. Additionally, he had recently embarked on an entrepreneurial journey by starting his own business, Sanford Home Repair & Remodel.
Circumstances Leading to Disappearance
In August 2020, Doren traveled to Fairbanks to visit friends and explore potential land purchase opportunities. During this visit, his dog, Groot, went missing, prompting Doren to initiate a search. On the afternoon of August 28, 2020, he was last seen on Airport Road in downtown Fairbanks, actively looking for Groot.
