In the early hours of June 10, 2015, the Gage Park neighborhood of Chicago was shaken by the tragic death of 19-year-old Devonte L. Terry. Despite the passage of nearly a decade, his murder remains unsolved, leaving a void in the community and unanswered questions for his loved ones.

The Night of the Incident

At approximately 12:44 a.m., authorities responded to reports of a shooting in the 5600 block of South Artesian Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered Devonte Terry unresponsive, having suffered a gunshot wound to the back. The young man was pronounced dead at the scene, just steps away from his residence in the same block. The Cook County medical examiner's office later confirmed his identity and the cause of death.
