A Promising Life Cut Short
In late January 2017, the Tampa community was shaken by the tragic death of 25-year-old Dontae Lampkins. Known for his vibrant personality and openness about his identity, Dontae was a beloved son, brother, and friend. His sudden and violent death left a void in the hearts of those who knew him and raised unsettling questions about safety and prejudice in the Seminole Heights neighborhood.
The Mysterious Disappearance
Dontae was last seen by his mother on Tuesday, January 24, 2017. When he failed to return home or show up for work the following day, his family grew increasingly concerned. His sister, Devada Carlton, recalled a deep sense of unease during those initial hours of his disappearance, sensing that something was terribly wrong. Their worst fears were confirmed when, on Thursday, January 26, construction workers discovered Dontae's lifeless body in an alley between East Comanche and East Mohawk Avenues, nestled between North 9th and North 11th Streets in Seminole Heights. He had suffered severe upper body trauma, indicating a violent end. on Vanished at Sea: The Mysterious Disappearance of Cameron Booth Off Chincoteague's Coast
He was a criminal, an abuser, likely who didn't want to face justice of his actions and took his own life because he could not face the consequences of what he did. The victims have told the family his crimes, with evidence. The family knows he was arrested and convicted of possession of CSAM. They know who and what he was. And they're all so equally sick they live in comfort that the victims don't want to retraumatize themselves over everything he put them through. Dont support this families sick parade of using a monster to get sympathy. He was never ashamed of who he was. He loudly boasted his crimes and justified them. The family shouldn't sit there and pretend, how far from reality are they to sit and post this man publicly on news outlets, websites, knowing who he is. Do they need attention that badly? They don't want the attention from the truth. The victims will never get justice. Do not pray for him o
