A Quiet Life in Bokeelia

Milton H. Crocker was a 67-year-old resident of Bokeelia, Florida, a small, tranquil community on Pine Island. Known for its serene landscapes and tight-knit populace, Bokeelia was an unlikely setting for a mystery that would captivate and confound both locals and investigators. Crocker, a white male standing 6'3" and weighing approximately 200 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes, led a life that, by all accounts, was unremarkable yet content. However, beneath this calm exterior, Crocker was reportedly struggling with depression, a detail that would later become significant in understanding the circumstances of his disappearance.  

The Day He Disappeared

On January 4, 2019, Crocker vanished without a trace. That morning, he left his home carrying two firearms. Later that day, a longtime friend discovered an envelope in his mailbox. Inside were several hundred dollars in cash, lottery tickets, the keys to Crocker's pickup truck, and a letter containing instructions on managing his personal affairs. Alarmed by this unexpected and unsettling delivery, the friend rushed to Crocker's residence, only to find it deserted. All of Crocker's belongings, including his cellphone and vehicle, were left behind, and there has been no activity on his financial accounts since that day.
