A Navy Veteran’s Mysterious Disappearance

Daniel Elton Windley, affectionately known as “Dano” to friends and family, vanished without a trace on March 29, 2018, in Charleston, West Virginia. At the time, the 45-year-old Navy veteran was last seen behind a Lowe’s store near the Kanawha River in the Kanawha City neighborhood. Despite his military background and close ties to the community, his disappearance remains one of Charleston’s most perplexing cold cases.

Personal Background and Physical Description

Born on December 21, 1972, Windley stood 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighed approximately 150 pounds. He had gray hair, brown eyes, and was known to have three tattoos on his upper arms and the back of his shoulder. His nickname, “Dano,” was widely recognized among his acquaintances. ...Read More
