Brittany Nichole Shank was a 23-year-old mother of four from Sturgis, Michigan, who vanished under mysterious circumstances on November 30, 2018. At the time, she was striving to rebuild her life—seeking sobriety, pursuing employment, and attempting to maintain a connection with her children, despite having signed over her parental rights. Described as having a distinctive appearance, Brittany had multiple piercings and tattoos, including the names "Kayden" and "Zak," a tribal butterfly, and a sugar skull. Her hair was dyed red with shaved sides, and she may have been using the last name Wallace, a previous married name. 

The Night of the Disappearance

On the evening of November 30, 2018, Brittany borrowed her boyfriend's car and was driving through the 33000 block of Fawn River Road in Sturgis, Michigan. Around 9:30 p.m., in dense fog, she crashed the vehicle into a ditch. Witnesses later reported seeing her walking barefoot and without a coat, bleeding from her feet and arms, and appearing disoriented as she went from house to house seeking help.
