On the morning of June 14, 2020, 28-year-old Clare Maney was captured on surveillance footage walking along the shoreline at Old Kona Airport Park in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, wearing dive fins. This would be the last confirmed sighting of her. The following day, after failing to reach her, family and friends reported her missing to the Hawaii Police Department, expressing concern for her well-being and noting that she was in need of medical attention .
Upon receiving the missing person report, the Hawaii Fire Department, in coordination with the Coast Guard and local police, initiated an extensive search operation. This effort included aerial searches using helicopters, marine searches with rescue boats, and ground searches along the coastline. Despite these comprehensive efforts, the only trace of Clare found was one of her dive fins .
Clare was known for her adventurous spirit and deep connections with those around her. A graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, she had previously worked at the university's Outdoor Adventure Center. Her cousin, Anne Rezac, described her as passionate, smart, and adventurous, someone who poured everything into her relationships and interests .
Before her disappearance, Clare had been contemplating a return to the mainland United States. She had planned a summer road trip and was considering moving back due to some struggles she was facing in Hawaii. Her last conversation with her cousin was on the morning of her disappearance, during which she discussed these plans . on Vanished at Sea: The Mysterious Disappearance of Cameron Booth Off Chincoteague's Coast
He was a criminal, an abuser, likely who didn't want to face justice of his actions and took his own life because he could not face the consequences of what he did. The victims have told the family his crimes, with evidence. The family knows he was arrested and convicted of possession of CSAM. They know who and what he was. And they're all so equally sick they live in comfort that the victims don't want to retraumatize themselves over everything he put them through. Dont support this families sick parade of using a monster to get sympathy. He was never ashamed of who he was. He loudly boasted his crimes and justified them. The family shouldn't sit there and pretend, how far from reality are they to sit and post this man publicly on news outlets, websites, knowing who he is. Do they need attention that badly? They don't want the attention from the truth. The victims will never get justice. Do not pray for him o
