On August 16, 2021, Matthew was last seen in Missoula, Montana. His journey took him eastward along Highway 200, a route that winds through the scenic yet remote areas of the state. He was a criminal, an abuser, likely who didn't want to face justice of his actions and took his own life because he could not face the consequences of what he did.
