On October 7, 1988, 54-year-old Ada Jane Groomes vanished from Scottdale, Pennsylvania, leaving behind a trail of unanswered questions and a family desperate for closure. A co-owner of Groomes Transit Company alongside her estranged husband, Donald Groomes, Ada's sudden disappearance shocked the community and ignited a decades-long investigation that remains unresolved to this day. Despite extensive searches and legal proceedings, the mystery of what happened to Ada continues to haunt those who knew her.
Ada began her day by visiting the Groomes Transit Company in East Huntingdon Township, where she requested a mechanic to inspect her vehicle. Witnesses reported a heated argument during this time. Later, she traveled to Greensburg to collect a $20,000 check owed to the company, only to discover that Donald had already retrieved it. Ada then returned to the bus garage, possibly to confront him. Her car was later found parked near her home, but there was no sign of Ada. She had plans to visit her mother in Butler for her birthday and attend a square-dancing event, but she never arrived at either.
Ada and Donald's 34-year marriage had deteriorated by 1986, leading to a separation marked by allegations of physical abuse. Ada obtained protection orders against Donald in both Pennsylvania and Maryland and was engaged in a contentious divorce that included disputes over their business. Family members reported that Ada feared for her safety, and the couple's children believed that Donald sought full control of the family business, a point of contention between the estranged spouses.
Around the time of Ada's disappearance, the couple's 30-foot mobile home also went missing. Donald claimed that Ada had taken it to Arizona to join a cult, a theory that authorities found dubious. In 1989, the mobile home was discovered in Tampa, Florida, having been transported there by John R. "Bud" Neckerauer and Linda Gettemy. Both were charged with concealing evidence, but the charges were dismissed before trial. The mobile home yielded no evidence of Ada's whereabouts. ...Read More

on Vanished at Sea: The Mysterious Disappearance of Cameron Booth Off Chincoteague's Coast
He was a criminal, an abuser, likely who didn't want to face justice of his actions and took his own life because he could not face the consequences of what he did. The victims have told the family his crimes, with evidence. The family knows he was arrested and convicted of possession of CSAM. They know who and what he was. And they're all so equally sick they live in comfort that the victims don't want to retraumatize themselves over everything he put them through. Dont support this families sick parade of using a monster to get sympathy. He was never ashamed of who he was. He loudly boasted his crimes and justified them. The family shouldn't sit there and pretend, how far from reality are they to sit and post this man publicly on news outlets, websites, knowing who he is. Do they need attention that badly? They don't want the attention from the truth. The victims will never get justice. Do not pray for him o
