Anthony J. Cavet, a 71-year-old retired railroad worker, lived a secluded life on a sprawling property in the northwestern part of East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana. Known for his hermit-like lifestyle, Cavet shared his land with goats, dogs, and cats, which he cared for deeply. Despite his reclusive nature, his family emphasized that he wouldn't have left his animals unattended without making arrangements, highlighting the peculiarity of his sudden disappearance.
In early June 1996, a postal worker noticed that Cavet had not been collecting his mail, prompting concern. Upon investigation, it was found that he was missing from his property. Animal Control later retrieved his unattended animals, further indicating that Cavet had left without warning or preparation.
Despite the initial disappearance in June, there was a reported sighting of Cavet in Denham Springs, Louisiana, in December 1996. This sighting, however, was never confirmed and added to the mystery surrounding his case.
Adding to the enigma, Cavet's beige 1985 Ford pickup truck, which he had purchased in March 1996, was also missing. The truck featured dual rear wheels and a louvered steel protector over the back window with three holes for rear visibility. Its license plate read B340220. A nationwide search yielded no results, and there were no records indicating that the truck had been sold prior to his disappearance. on Vanished at Sea: The Mysterious Disappearance of Cameron Booth Off Chincoteague's Coast
He was a criminal, an abuser, likely who didn't want to face justice of his actions and took his own life because he could not face the consequences of what he did. The victims have told the family his crimes, with evidence. The family knows he was arrested and convicted of possession of CSAM. They know who and what he was. And they're all so equally sick they live in comfort that the victims don't want to retraumatize themselves over everything he put them through. Dont support this families sick parade of using a monster to get sympathy. He was never ashamed of who he was. He loudly boasted his crimes and justified them. The family shouldn't sit there and pretend, how far from reality are they to sit and post this man publicly on news outlets, websites, knowing who he is. Do they need attention that badly? They don't want the attention from the truth. The victims will never get justice. Do not pray for him o
