In the spring of 2008, a 47-year-old man named Leroy Ellis Rice vanished from his life in Detroit, Michigan. He was a resident of a boarding home in the 48226 area of the city, and the last confirmed sighting of him was on April 1, 2008. After that day, Leroy, a Black / African American male, was not seen or heard from again, leaving behind a prolonged and painful silence for those who knew him.
