In the late summer of 1994, a young man named Jason Allen Gibson, just 22 years old, vanished from the familiar streets of his lifelong home in Ardmore, Oklahoma. On September 1st of that year, he was seen for the last time, wearing a maroon pullover sweatshirt and blue jeans. Jason, a member of both the Chickasaw and Seminole Nations, was a young man with distinct, frizzy black hair and brown eyes. At the time of his disappearance, he stood between 5'9" and 5'10" and weighed approximately 180 to 210 pounds. His family and community were left with only questions when he ceased all contact, beginning a painful and prolonged period of uncertainty. The circumstances surrounding Jason's disappearance are shrouded in ambiguity, with very few details available to construct a clear picture of his last known moments. It is believed that Jason may have been experiencing homelessness around the time he went missing. His family has shared that he lived with a mental disability. The last time he was seen, he had been staying with his father at the Salvation Army lodge in Ardmore. A native of the area, Jason had attended Ardmore High School and was a familiar presence in the community from which he disappeared without a trace. Years have turned into decades, yet the case of Jason Allen Gibson remains unresolved. He was not officially reported as a missing person until March 10, 1995, more than six months after he was last seen. Investigators have noted his many distinct physical features, including numerous scars on his neck, chest, and several on his arms and thighs, details that could one day aid in his identification. The Ardmore Police Department continues to hold the case file, hoping for a breakthrough. The passage of time has not diminished the hope for answers in a case marked by a profound lack of information, leaving a family to wonder what happened to their son and brother on that September day so long ago.
