On August 4, 2018, 70-year-old Clinton Robert Thomas was last seen at his home in Dustin, Oklahoma, a small town in Hughes County. That afternoon, at approximately 4:30 pm, he was known to have returned to his property. What happened after that remains a mystery. Clinton, a man of Caucasian and Native American descent, was a father who enjoyed fixing cars. He stood between 5'4" and 5'6" tall and weighed between 150 and 180 pounds. He had graying black hair, a long gray beard, and hazel eyes, for which he wore glasses. Distinctive features included scars on his back and legs and a tattoo of the name "WANDA" in black ink on his right arm. On the day he vanished, he was believed to be wearing a cut-off, button-down shirt and carrying his cell phone and a wallet. The circumstances surrounding Clinton Thomas's disappearance were immediately concerning to his family. One of the most alarming details was that the gate to his property was found unlocked, something his children said was highly out of character for him, as he was meticulous about securing his property and vehicles. Adding to the family's distress, one of his pickup trucks was discovered abandoned about 10 miles from his home in Weleetka, Oklahoma. The truck was found behind a church, and inside were his keys and medication, items he would not be expected to leave behind. The Weleetka city police ran the truck's tags on August 6th, indicating it had been sitting there for a couple of days. The investigation into Clinton's disappearance, led by the Hughes County Sheriff's Office, has been fraught with frustration for his loved ones. His family firmly believes that foul play was involved in his vanishing. The day he went missing, Clinton had reportedly met with a man to trade a dune buggy for a Jeep. Due to a flat tire on his tow truck, he was unable to take the Jeep home that day. He and the other man went to get something to eat and then parted ways. This was the last known sequence of events before he was seen at his home. The discovery of his other truck with a non-working transmission in Weleetka, with valuable items still inside despite a window being down, only deepened the mystery. A witness reported seeing someone who did not match Clinton's description leaving the truck in the church parking lot. The case of Clinton Robert Thomas remains an unsolved missing person case, leaving his family with unanswered questions and a profound sense of loss.
