In the summer of 1983, a young family was just beginning their new life in Lawton, Oklahoma. Eighteen-year-old Lisa Farmer, her husband of three months, and their infant son had moved into their new home only three days prior. On the evening of August 2nd, Lisa, a female of Caucasian and Native American descent, was seen for the last time. A neighbor spotted her in her kitchen at approximately 8:30 p.m. Her husband, who was in the military, was away for a training exercise, leaving Lisa to spend her first night alone in the new house with their fourteen-month-old child. The following afternoon, concern grew as neighbors heard the baby's persistent cries. Upon entering the home to investigate, they made a troubling discovery. The infant was alone, hungry, and in need of a diaper change, but was otherwise unharmed. The back door of the house was unlocked, and a dining room window was open, yet Lisa was nowhere to be found. All of her personal belongings, including her identification, keys, money, and jewelry, were left behind. The only item that appeared to be missing was a floral-print nightgown. There were no clear signs of a struggle inside the home. The investigation into Lisa Farmer's disappearance has left her family with unanswered questions for decades. Authorities have long suspected foul play, believing Lisa is likely deceased. A man named Kenneth Wagstaff, who was tried and acquitted for the murder of another woman around that time, was named as the primary suspect in Lisa's case, though no charges were ever filed against him in connection with her disappearance. The case remains unsolved, and Lisa's body has never been recovered. The mysterious circumstances of her vanishing, leaving behind her young child and all her possessions, continue to haunt those who knew her and the community of Lawton. The case is a sorrowful puzzle, marked by the sudden and unexplained absence of a young mother from the heart of her new home.
