On July 3, 2012, 49-year-old David Arthur Terris was working as a commercial fisherman aboard a vessel in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Newport, Oregon. The day took a tragic turn when the boat he was on capsized and sank into the depths of the ocean. In the immediate aftermath, a search and rescue operation was launched in an attempt to locate and recover any survivors from the maritime accident.
