On November 17, 2016, 71-year-old Rodney Robert Granroth disappeared while deer hunting in a familiar area near his family's homestead in Portage Township, Michigan. A resident of Hancock, Michigan, he was reported missing at 1:30 p.m. that Thursday after he did not return from his hunt in the vicinity of Tapiola Road and Kallungi Road.
