On a late summer day, August 27, 2016, in the small town of Morrison, Oklahoma, a 47-year-old man named Alfred "Buddy" Apperson Jr. was seen for the last time. He was near a creek by the local railroad tracks, a quiet setting that would become the last known location for a man who seemingly vanished without a trace. At the time of his disappearance, Buddy was a white male, standing 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing around 165 pounds. He had thinning blond or strawberry-blond hair and blue eyes. The day he went missing, he was reportedly wearing blue jeans without a shirt, and tan work boots, and was carrying his wallet which contained his identification. Buddy had several distinctive tattoos that told a story on his skin. On his right pectoral, he had a heart with the names "Martha Cassie Ryan". His shoulder blade was adorned with the image of a baby's hands and feet, accompanied by the names "Gracie Joann". A barbed wire tattoo wrapped around his left bicep. He also had a few noticeable scars: one on his face, a burn mark on the inside of his left calf, and another on his right upper back, as well as a cyst on his left elbow. These identifying marks are some of the few clues left in a case that has offered little in the way of answers for his loved ones. The Noble County Sheriff's Office is the investigating agency in charge of Alfred "Buddy" Apperson Jr.'s case. Despite the passage of time, his case remains open, a lingering question in the community of Morrison and for a family that awaits news. The circumstances surrounding his disappearance near the creek and railroad tracks remain vague, and with no new information released to the public, the narrative of what happened to Buddy Apperson Jr. is incomplete. The overview of this case is one of a sudden and unexplained disappearance, leaving a void and many unanswered questions for his family and investigators.
