In the community of Shelby, North Carolina, the evening of January 16, 2016, marked the beginning of a painful and enduring mystery for the family of Sandy Todd Canipe. At 48 years old, Sandy was last seen near his home on Dyer Drive at approximately 5:30 p.m. Described as a Caucasian and American Indian/Alaska Native male, with brown hair and green eyes, he stood about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighed around 125 pounds.
