On July 21, 2015, 34-year-old Jeremiah Foco, a software engineer for Oracle, was working from his home in Bellevue, Washington. That afternoon, he informed his manager that his work laptop had crashed and he would come into the office the next day to have it repaired. This was the last time anyone from his work would hear from him. Surveillance footage captured his car entering the parking garage of his apartment complex in Seattle's International District later that evening, and then showed Foco himself entering the building shortly after midnight on July 22, 2015. He was never definitively seen again. When he failed to show up for work as planned, concern began to grow among his friends and colleagues. After Foco missed his appointment to get his computer fixed, his sister filed a missing persons report with the Seattle Police Department on July 23, 2015. Friends and family initiated their own search efforts, distributing flyers and using social media to spread the word about his disappearance. An initial welfare check by police at his apartment revealed nothing out of the ordinary; the apartment was tidy, and his bed was made, suggesting he may have left for his workday as usual. His car was found in the apartment's parking garage, but his wallet, keys, cell phone, and the broken laptop were missing. The only potential sighting of Foco after he entered his apartment building was surveillance footage from a nearby transit station the morning of July 22nd. The video showed a man of similar build carrying a backpack, but the individual's face was not visible, and Foco’s co-workers did not believe the backpack belonged to him. Furthermore, his public transportation card was not used that day. A ping from his cell phone was detected in downtown Seattle on July 23rd, but an exact location could not be determined. The investigation into Jeremiah Foco's disappearance has yielded few answers. Police have stated there is no evidence of foul play in his case. His bank accounts and social media have remained untouched since his disappearance. Friends and family describe him as a very social, well-liked, and responsible person, making his sudden vanishing all the more baffling. The case has been noted for its lack of significant leads, leaving those who know him to wonder what could have happened. Despite the passage of time, the circumstances surrounding his disappearance remain a mystery, and the case continues to be unsolved.
