In the summer of 2005, a 33-year-old man named Dwayne Allen Chick, also known as "Kiddie," disappeared from Rustburg, Virginia. On July 22, 2005, he left his father's home in the company of a woman he had met online. Three days later, on July 25, he was arrested for public intoxication and shoplifting and was briefly jailed before his release that same evening. That was the last time anyone has reported seeing or hearing from him. Dwayne, a white male with brown hair and blue eyes, stood at approximately 5'10" and weighed around 150 pounds. He had a pierced ear and scars on the left side of his face. According to his family, he had been struggling with alcohol and was feeling down after recently losing his driver's license and his job. His father later found a diary in which Dwayne had expressed feelings of being in a "downward spiral." He also had an unspecified medical condition for which he required medication. The circumstances surrounding Dwayne's disappearance remain unclear. The woman he was last seen with told his father that they had an argument and he left her home. While he had a history of leaving for a few days at a time, he had never been gone for such an extended period. The case is still considered an endangered missing person case and remains unsolved. The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office is the investigating agency.
