Anna Thelma Garrett, a 92-year-old woman affectionately known as Thelma to her friends and family, was last seen at her Tulsa, Oklahoma home in January 2001. The exact date of her disappearance is uncertain, and she has not been heard from since. At the time she went missing, she was described as a white female, standing 5'0" tall and weighing 130 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. When she was last seen, it is believed she was wearing a blue shirt and yellow sweatpants. Her absence was not officially noted until a friend reported her missing on February 22, 2001. Upon investigation, law enforcement found the door and front gate of her residence unlocked, but nothing appeared to be missing from inside her home except for her car. The vehicle, a beige 1976 Buick Park Avenue with Oklahoma license plate OSN840, was also missing from her residence. The car was later discovered several blocks away on North Phoenix Avenue; however, the license plate was missing. A significant and troubling discovery was made inside the trunk of the vehicle where investigators found bloodstains, leading them to suspect foul play was involved in Thelma's disappearance. The Tulsa Police Department has been investigating her case, and while a suspect was identified, Thelma's body has never been found. The investigation took a dark turn when the suspect in Thelma's disappearance, David Campbell, died by suicide in May 2001 at the age of 36. He was found hanging from a tree, and in his shirt pocket, authorities discovered a hand-drawn map. Hope was briefly ignited that the map would lead to Thelma's whereabouts. A search of a wooded area near Sapulpa, Oklahoma, was conducted based on the map, but unfortunately, no evidence related to her case was found. The case remains an unsolved and heartbreaking mystery for her loved ones and the community. The lack of resolution in finding Thelma, coupled with the primary suspect's death, has left many questions unanswered in the disappearance of Anna Thelma Garrett.
