In the summer of 1985, a young woman named Eva Susan West, just 28 years old, vanished from her home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was last seen by a friend at her house in the evening on June 14, 1985. Known to some by the nickname "Pete," Eva was a petite woman, standing at approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing around 95 pounds. She had long, dark brown hair and brown eyes. Distinctive features included a scar at the base of her neck, pierced ears, and a unique physical trait: her right ear had no earlobe. When she disappeared, it is believed her fingernails and toenails were painted. Her mother, concerned after not hearing from her, filed a missing persons report a few days later, initiating a case that would remain unsolved for decades. Following the report of her disappearance and the subsequent media attention, a mysterious phone call was made to the hospital where Eva's mother worked. A person claiming to be Eva left a message for her mother, stating that she was "alright." However, Eva's mother never had the chance to speak with the caller directly, leaving the identity of the person on the other end of the line unconfirmed and adding a layer of complexity to the investigation. In the days following her disappearance, Eva's cream and brown two-door GMC truck was seen being driven by her boyfriend. He continued to use the vehicle until he was arrested on unrelated charges. After his arrest, Eva's mother was able to recover the truck from the impound lot. Investigators have long suspected that Eva's disappearance may be connected to drugs and that she may have met with foul play. Despite these suspicions, no suspects have ever been publicly named in her case. The passage of time has not brought any definitive answers, and the circumstances surrounding what happened to Eva West after she was last seen by her friend remain a mystery. The case is a haunting example of a life interrupted, leaving a family with unanswered questions and a community with a lingering sense of loss. The official investigation into the disappearance of Eva Susan West is ongoing, managed by the Oklahoma City Police Department's Cold Case Unit.
