Tina M. Brashear, a 38-year-old woman and enrolled member of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation, has been missing since April 1, 2011. She was last seen in Mannford, Oklahoma, in Creek County, with her boyfriend, James "Jimmy" Alexander. At the time of her disappearance, Tina was described as being 5'4" tall and weighing between 210 and 220 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. She has several distinctive tattoos, including a dragon on her left ankle, a heart and rose on her right lower leg, a tribal design on the back of her neck, a dot on her right hand, and a skull with the names "Caleb/Dwayne" on her right back. Family members grew deeply concerned when she did not make contact on Easter and Mother's Day, which was highly uncharacteristic of her, as she always stayed in touch despite sometimes disappearing for brief periods. The last time she was seen, she and her boyfriend were asked to leave a friend's house after they began to argue. The investigation into Tina's disappearance revealed a troubled and volatile relationship with her boyfriend, Jimmy Alexander. Just months before she went missing, Jimmy had been arrested for assaulting Tina. On the night she vanished, the two were reportedly drinking and got into another argument related to the prior assault charge. In 2013, two years after Tina was last seen, Jimmy Alexander was charged with her murder, and his father, Jack Alexander, was charged with accessory to murder. The charges came after friends of Jimmy's came forward with disturbing information; one reported that Jimmy had confessed to "getting rid of" Tina, while another reported seeing a significant amount of blood and a metal rod with blood and hair at his home. Before a trial could take place, Jimmy became ill in jail, fell, and later died in the hospital from a brain bleed. Subsequently, the charges against his father were dropped. Both Jack Alexander and another key witness have since passed away. The case of Tina Brashear remains an open and painful chapter for her family, who are left without closure. Her brother, a reserve deputy, and her mother reported her missing and have continued to seek answers. Various law enforcement agencies, including the Creek County Sheriff's Office, the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Lighthorse Police, and the Bureau of Indian Affairs Missing and Murdered Unit, have been involved in the investigation. Over the years, searches have been conducted based on tips, including a search on the Alexander property, but they have not led to Tina's discovery. Her family believes she was killed and that her body was concealed on that property. The case is a heart-wrenching example of the ongoing crisis of missing and murdered Indigenous people, leaving a family, including Tina's three children, waiting for the day they can bring her home and lay her to rest.
