On a Tuesday morning in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, 25-year-old Tameka Anderson, a mother of two, began her day with a plan. It was February 23, 2010, and she intended to purchase a used car. The last time her older son, who was 11 at the time, saw her, she was waking him up for school and reminding him to lock the door behind her.
