On December 7, 1958, 54-year-old Kenneth Martin, his wife Barbara, and their three daughters, Barbara Virginia, and Susan, disappeared after leaving their Portland, Oregon home. The family had planned a day trip to the Columbia River Gorge to collect greenery for Christmas decorations. They were last seen driving their 1954 cream and red Ford Country Squire station wagon.
