On December 7, 1958, 14-year-old Barbara "Barbie" Martin, her parents Kenneth and Barbara, and her two younger sisters, Virginia and Susan, disappeared after leaving their Portland, Oregon home. The family had planned a day trip to the Columbia River Gorge to gather greenery for Christmas decorations. Their disappearance sparked a significant search effort and became one of Oregon's most perplexing missing persons cases.
