In the winter of 2011, a 29-year-old mother of five named April Michele Pickens vanished from her home in Asheville, North Carolina, leaving behind a void that her family feels to this day. She was last seen on December 27th at the Pisgah View Apartments where she resided. On the day of her disappearance, April told her sister she was expecting a male friend to pick her up, though she did not reveal his identity.
