In the early morning hours of January 14, 2024, Marissa Kay Carmichael, a 25-year-old mother of five from North Carolina, found herself in a distressing situation. After a night out with a friend, she was left stranded at an Exxon gas station in Greensboro. A man she was with had driven off with her cell phone while she was inside the station.
