Joshua Johnathan Korvin, a 29-year-old male, was last seen in Mount Vernon, Washington, on March 17, 2004. On that day, a small, accidental fire occurred at his residence. While the damage was minimal and no injuries were reported, it is unclear if he was home when the fire started. Evidence suggested that he escaped the fire by climbing out of his bedroom window. He has not been seen or heard from since. At the time of his disappearance, Joshua, also known as Josh, was a professional snowboarder and owned a skate shop called Evolution in Bellingham, Washington. Leading up to his disappearance, Joshua had been facing significant personal challenges. A few years prior, in August 2000, he was involved in a serious car accident where the vehicle he was in was hit head-on by a suspected drunk driver. While Joshua was seriously injured but survived, his partner tragically did not. Following this traumatic event, his family reported that he entered a dark period, struggling with depression, the loss of his partner, and his injuries. This led to him associating with a different crowd and developing a substance abuse problem. In the weeks before he went missing, he had some trouble with the law and was arrested for disorderly conduct. The investigation into Joshua's disappearance remains open, though it has grown cold over the years with no new leads. The Mount Vernon Police Department has, in the past, appealed to the public for any new information that could lead to a resolution. Despite the passage of time, his family, including his daughter who was only a baby when he vanished, continues to seek closure. Investigators have expressed that they believe he is deceased, but without any concrete evidence, his case remains an unsolved and painful mystery for his loved ones. The circumstances surrounding the fire at his home and his subsequent disappearance have left his family with many unanswered questions, and they continue to hope that someone will come forward with the information needed to finally bring him home.
