On March 28, 2002, a 23-year-old student named Daniel Mazilu was last seen by his brother at their family's home in Silver Lake, Ohio, at approximately 2:30 in the afternoon. Living with his parents and brother on Graham Road, Daniel departed the residence without mentioning his destination. It was later determined that he made a stop and a purchase in the Spicertown area of Akron, Ohio, but after that, all communication from him ceased.
