In the small city of Estacada, Oregon, a sense of unease settled over the family of Thomas Harold Sperb in the autumn of 2000. On October 1st of that year, 35-year-old Thomas was last seen by his mother as she left for work. He was on foot near his mother's residence in the 47000 block of east Clausen Road, where he also lived with his stepfather.
