In the autumn of 1990, a sense of unease settled over a family in North Seattle as they lost contact with 29-year-old Linda Lee Moore. The vibrant young woman had been last seen in Seattle, Washington, but as days turned into weeks, her absence became a heavy silence. While the specific date of her last contact is noted as October 29, 1990, the precise details surrounding her disappearance remain vague. Her family, filled with worry, officially reported her missing, setting in motion a search that would span decades and leave them grappling with unanswered questions about what had happened to Linda. For over thirty years, Linda's case remained cold, a painful mystery for her loved ones and a file that remained open with the Seattle Police Department. Investigators at one point explored the possibility of a connection to the notorious Green River Killer, but they were never able to establish a link. The trail seemed to have gone cold, with no significant leads to shed light on her whereabouts or the circumstances of her disappearance. The passage of time did little to diminish the hope for answers, yet the family was left to wonder, year after year, about Linda's fate. A significant breakthrough in the case finally came in March 2022, when human remains were discovered in a remote, wild area of Snohomish County. After careful examination, authorities were able to positively identify the remains as belonging to Linda Moore through the use of dental records. This somber discovery confirmed that Linda was deceased, bringing a painful end to her family's long-held hope of finding her alive. Though partial remains were located, the case is set to stay active in the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) in the hope that additional remains might be found. The Seattle Police Department continues to seek information from the public about Linda's disappearance and death, a lasting testament to the enduring effort to bring a full measure of peace and justice for Linda and her family.
