Michele Lyn Smith, a 38-year-old mother of three, was last seen on December 9, 2001, at her home in Eden, North Carolina. She reportedly left her residence at approximately 6:30 p.m. to go Christmas shopping at a K-Mart in Martinsville, Virginia, but never returned. At the time of her disappearance, Smith was wearing a green blouse, blue jeans, and brown shoes.
