On the evening of December 31, 1996, in Waynesville, North Carolina, 39-year-old Diane Marie Kennedy was last seen. At approximately 10:00 p.m., she walked away from her home on Candlelight Lane, near Rabbit Skin Road. Diane was dressed for the cold weather in a gray wool winter jacket, blue or black jeans, and tan winter boots. She was also carrying a small black duffel bag with red straps. Since that night, there has been no contact with her, and her whereabouts remain a mystery.
