On a fall day in November of 1997, a 40-year-old man named Bruce Richard DeVoe disappeared from the small town of Tenino, Washington. He was a father to a young son and was last seen in the vicinity of the 14000 block of Knowles Road on November 4th. At the time of his disappearance, he was described as a white male with brown, naturally wavy hair and blue eyes, standing at approximately 5'11" and weighing around 135 pounds. He was reportedly last seen wearing a flannel shirt, blue jeans, and tennis shoes. The circumstances surrounding his disappearance left his family and friends with a number of unanswered questions and a profound sense of loss. A few days after he was last seen, Bruce's pickup truck was discovered abandoned on Independence Road, not far from where he was last sighted in Tenino. The discovery of his vehicle, however, provided no clues as to his whereabouts, as there was no sign of him at the scene. The situation became even more puzzling as it was revealed that Bruce had left behind his personal belongings, including new clothing and two uncashed paychecks. The fact that he would leave these items, and most importantly his young son, was completely out of character, deepening the concerns of those who knew him. The investigation into Bruce DeVoe's disappearance was handled by the Thurston County Sheriff's Office. Despite their efforts, the case grew cold over the years, leaving a void in the lives of his loved ones. He was known to sometimes use the nickname Ralph. The years have turned into decades, yet the case officially remains unsolved. The disappearance of Bruce DeVoe is a somber reminder of a life interrupted, a family left without answers, and a community that lost one of its own. The overview of this case paints a picture of a man who seemingly vanished without a trace, leaving behind a life and a loving family.
