On January 4, 1982, a 22-year-old Petty Officer in the United States Navy named William "Billy" K. Summers Jr. vanished from Bremerton, Washington. At the time, he was a Machinist Mate Second Class assigned to the USS Robison (DDG-12), which was docked at the Naval Shipyard. Originally from Alabama, Summers was a quiet and reserved individual. He has not been seen or heard from since the day he disappeared while his ship was in port. Leading up to his disappearance, those who knew Billy described him as having become intensely religious. Raised in the Baptist faith, his newfound religious fervor sometimes led to arguments, which could occasionally become physical. This change in behavior has led to speculation that he may have joined a cult. Summers had also casually mentioned a desire to move to Canada before he went missing. In his leisure time, he was known to enjoy activities such as fishing, playing tennis, and working with handicapped children. The Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) has been handling the investigation into William Summers Jr.'s disappearance. His case is classified as an endangered missing person. He is a white male with brown hair and blue eyes, standing at 6'1" and weighing around 160 pounds. A notable characteristic is that he has two amalgam fillings in his teeth. The case of William Summers Jr. remains an unsolved mystery, leaving his family without answers for decades. The circumstances surrounding his disappearance from the naval shipyard continue to be a subject of investigation and concern.
