In the autumn of 2024, concern grew for 33-year-old Aaron Jordan Mason, a resident of Woodbridge, Virginia. The last communication his family received from him was a text message sent on October 6, 2024. Following this, his phone reportedly pinged in the vicinity of Wheeling, West Virginia, though he was not believed to have any local connections there. Aaron, a man of 5'10" and weighing around 160 pounds, with brown hair, hazel eyes, and a notable large, unkempt reddish beard, was originally from Oregon. He had moved to Virginia several years prior to attend Old Dominion University. Distinctive tattoos mark his appearance; on his right forearm, an image of a fir tree, and on his left forearm, an outline of the state of Oregon containing a red bird and trees. When he was last seen in Prince William County on October 6, 2024, he was reportedly wearing shorts and a hat. Aaron was said to have left behind his car and other personal belongings. His family officially reported him missing to the Prince William County Police Department on October 24, 2024, after being unable to get in touch with him. It is also known that Aaron has a history of mental health needs that require medication and may have experienced paranoia, particularly concerning law enforcement. The disappearance of Aaron Mason prompted efforts from both law enforcement and community organizations to ascertain his whereabouts. Despite these extensive searches, his location remains unknown. The circumstances surrounding his disappearance are unclear, leaving a void of unanswered questions for his family and community who anxiously await any news of his safe return. The investigation into his case is ongoing.
