In the late summer of 2024, concern grew for the well-being of Cathy Ann Spittler, a 63-year-old woman from Vancouver, Washington. The last confirmed contact with Cathy was on August 19, 2024. On that day, law enforcement officers spoke with her near the intersection of Northeast 143rd Avenue and Northeast Fourth Plain Boulevard. At the time, Cathy was living out of her blue 1992 Chevrolet Blazer with her son. This interaction would mark the last official contact anyone had with her, setting in motion a period of uncertainty and a search for answers regarding her whereabouts. The timeline following her last contact is marked by vagueness and a lack of communication. It wasn't until November 1, 2024, that her son officially reported concerns about her disappearance. He informed the Clark County Sheriff's Office that he had last seen his mother sometime in August near the Belmont Market in Portland, Oregon. According to her son, she had departed from the market in her Chevy Blazer. Adding to the mystery, her vehicle was found abandoned and subsequently towed on September 5, 2024. The Blazer was located near milepost 16 on the southbound side of Interstate 205. After these events, a concerning silence fell, as no friends or family had seen or heard from Cathy. Tragically, the search for Cathy Spittler has concluded. Authorities have confirmed that she was located deceased. The specific details surrounding when and where she was found remain unclear, as the information is vague and an exact date is unknown. The case transitioned from a search for a missing person to a somber confirmation of her passing. The overview of the case reflects a heartbreaking situation that began with a last point of contact in Vancouver and involved a final unconfirmed sighting in Portland, followed by the discovery of her abandoned vehicle. Ultimately, the resolution brought a sorrowful end to the search for the 63-year-old woman.
