U-Roy Alphonso James, a 25-year-old Black / African American male, was last seen in the Sunny Isles area of Christiansted, St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands on December 14, 2004. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a white T-shirt and stone-washed whitish-blue three-quarter jeans. James is described as being 5'11" and weighing approximately 156 pounds, with black dreadlocks, brown eyes, and a mustache and beard. He has distinctive scars on his forehead and chin. The U.S. Virgin Islands Police Department is the investigating agency for this case.

On the day he went missing, between 7:00 and 8:30 a.m., James was seen in the vicinity of the Sunny Isles shopping center. Police believed his disappearance may have been connected to a burned-out black Toyota Corolla found deep in the bush near Creque Dam on the same day. This was the same type of car James was reportedly driving. However, at the time of the initial investigation, no human remains were discovered in or near the vehicle. Authorities noted that James was known to frequent the Sion Farm and Grove Place areas.

The U.S. Virgin Islands Police Department's Criminal Investigation Bureau launched an investigation into James's disappearance. In a news report from December 15, 2004, a police spokesperson acknowledged a concerning trend of bodies being discovered in burned-out vehicles on St. Croix. The department urged anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of U-Roy James to contact them at 778-2211, extension 4531 or 4528, or emergency services at 911.

As of an April 2008 report, U-Roy James was still listed as a missing person. There have been no recent public updates regarding the status of his case. At the time he went missing, he was 25 years old; he would now be 46. The case remains unsolved and is documented under NamUs case number MP152681 and agency case number 04A22757.
