In the autumn of 2025, a 26-year-old woman named Alleacya "Angel" Boulia from St. Louis, Missouri, embarked on a solo journey to the Pacific Northwest. She had planned a short trip to visit and explore Olympic National Park in Washington, arriving in Port Angeles on November 6th. Although she initially intended to return home just a few days later, she made the decision to extend her stay. Her last confirmed sighting was on November 17, 2025, when she was seen on surveillance footage shopping at a Walmart in Port Angeles, where she purchased camping equipment. The last communication her family received was a text message from her on November 18, which included a smiling selfie thought to have been taken within or near the vast wilderness of the national park. After that message, her phone and bank cards went unused. Concern grew when Alleacya, who was normally in regular contact with her family, did not reach out during the Thanksgiving holiday. She was officially reported missing on November 27, 2025. The investigation gained a significant lead on November 30 when her rental car, a black Ford Bronco, was located at the Sol Duc Trailhead inside Olympic National Park. This discovery prompted an immediate and extensive search of the rugged terrain. Park rangers, along with multiple local search and rescue teams, utilized dogs, drones, and foot patrols to comb the Sol Duc area. A technical team also searched the river corridor. The search efforts were arduous and often hampered by severe weather conditions, including high winds and elevated water levels, which created hazardous situations for the search teams. In mid-December, the search strategy shifted to a "clue-responsive" phase, meaning teams would only redeploy based on new information or evidence. Tragically, on February 6, 2026, search and rescue teams discovered Alleacya's body. She was found in an off-trail area in the Sol Duc Valley, south of the trailhead where her car had been parked. The investigation into her death concluded that she had died from accidental hypothermia, and authorities stated there were no signs of foul play. Toxicology reports indicated the presence of low levels of cannabis-related substances, but officials clarified they were not a contributing factor in her death. The case of Alleacya Boulia is a heartbreaking story of a young woman's solo adventure into a beautiful but unforgiving wilderness that ended in a devastating loss. Despite a massive search effort, the challenging terrain and weather conditions presented significant obstacles, and ultimately, she succumbed to the elements.
