Joseph F. Fiala, a 22-year-old man, went missing in 1982 after moving to a remote area of Alaska. The last communication his family had with him was that year, when he informed them he was relocating to Foxhole, Alaska. Fiala, who was 23 at the time of his last contact, mentioned that he intended to build a cabin in the Fox area and had secured a job with the Highway Department in Fairbanks. He provided his family with a mailing address of "General Delivery, Foxhole, Alaska".
