On August 21, 2006, 57-year-old Skip Conrad vanished from his home in Silverton, Colorado. A well-known and respected member of the community, Conrad was an avid hiker who typically took two hikes in the mountains each day. On the morning of his disappearance, he was seen walking down Lackawanna Road, a familiar route for him, but he never returned. His failure to come back prompted an extensive search of the rugged terrain surrounding Silverton, but no trace of him was ever found.
