Masayuki Kubo, an 80-year-old retired Federal Aviation Administration engineer diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, vanished from his Honolulu, Hawaii condominium on Kapi'olani Boulevard on June 23, 2001. An avid walker, Kubo often took multiple walks a day, his usual destination being Kakaako Waterfront Park to watch the fishermen.
