On the morning of February 28, 2001, 23-year-old Stefanie D. Welch disappeared after dropping her two sons off at preschool and daycare in Lakin, Kansas. She was last seen at approximately 9:15 a.m. Authorities believe she then returned to the mobile home she was in the process of moving out of to gather some of her and her children's belongings.
