On June 11, 1938, four-year-old Hickle Harley Ware vanished from a meadow near his family's farm in Bungo Township, Minnesota. The young boy, who had blond hair, blue eyes, and a slight speech defect, was last seen between noon and 1:00 p.m. He was in the company of his two older brothers, aged ten and thirteen, who instructed him to stay put while they went to round up cattle.
